How to apply, step by step
- Check your child's age for the class — age criteria and checker.
- Shortlist schools and read each one's published criteria and points — distance matters most. Find schools.
- Open each school's own form on its website once forms open. Fill a separate form for every school you apply to.
- Enter details exactly as in your documents — the date of birth must match the birth certificate, and the address must match your address proof.
- Upload the documents the school asks for, and claim only the points you can prove.
- Submit and save the acknowledgement (form / registration number) — you'll need it to find your child on the lists.
- Finish before the last date — see the last date.
An enquiry form is not an application — it only records your interest. Make sure you complete the school's registration / admission form.

Documents to keep ready
Address proof — any one
- Ration card / smart card in the parents' name, with the child's name
- Domicile certificate of the child or a parent
- Voter ID (EPIC) of either parent
- Electricity, MTNL telephone or water bill, or passport, in either parent's name
- Aadhaar card of either parent
Other documents
- Child's birth certificate
- Recent passport-size photographs of the child (and often the parents)
- Proof for any points you claim — sibling's school ID, alumni certificate, first-born / girl-child declaration on stamp paper
- Originals of every document, plus self-attested photocopies, for verification after selection
EWS / DG admission form
EWS and DG seats are applied for on one common online form on the Delhi government portal, not on each school's form: ewsadmissions.delhi.gov.in.
Common questions
Is there one common admission form for all Delhi schools?
No. For general-category seats, each private school has its own form, filled on that school's website. Only EWS/DG seats use one common online form on the Delhi government's portal.
When will Delhi nursery admission forms 2027-28 be available?
The DoE announces the dates in November; forms are expected to open in early December 2026. Last year (2026-27) they opened on 4 December 2025 and closed on 27 December 2025.
Is an enquiry form the same as the admission form?
No. An enquiry or expression-of-interest form only records your interest — it doesn't start your application. Make sure you complete the school's registration / admission form before the last date.
Which documents do I need to fill the form?
Your child's birth certificate, an address proof for distance points, photographs, and proof for any points you claim (sibling, alumni, first-born). Keep originals ready for verification later.
